Conservation Watchlist 2022

The 2022 Conservation Watchlist is based on the numbers of annual registrations and registered breeding females in Australia. Numbers are provided voluntarily to the Trust. If you have further information on a breed that would add it to this list, or amend its position on the list, please email rarebreedstrustau@gmail.com. Censuses for species other than Poultry are planned for 2025 and it is expected that there will be changes to the 2022 Conservation Watchlist.

Poultry is based on the number of breeding age birds in the 2021 Poultry Census. More detailed information on poultry numbers can be found at this link. Poultry numbers are being surveyed (May-June 2024) and it is expected that a revised Poultry Watchlist will be available during September/October. Please head to the 2024 Poultry Census on our website to get involved.
